Feature Improvement: Streamlined Quote Acceptance
We’ve released an update that affects how Quotes are accepted and ordered to simplify the process for you and your customers.
As part of this update, the Quote Template settings for Online Payments and Purchase Orders have been merged into one Acceptance & Payments tab:
At the most basic level, you can enable Electronic Acceptance. This will allow the customer to simply click the Accept Quote button, upon which the Quote status will change to Accepted, and you will be notified by email.
You can require that the customer provide a signature, which modifies the acceptance process to look as follows:
You can require that terms are accepted prior to the customer being able to accept the Quote:
If you would like the customer to make a payment, you can enable a full payment, or a deposit amount of either a fixed amount, or a percentage of the Quote. In this case, the customer is required to enter their credit card details, and the card will be charged through your payment gateway. The acceptance process now looks like this:
In this case, upon successfully charging the credit card, the Quote status would be changed to Ordered. As well, most settings can be mixed and matched, so you could have a required deposit payment without terms or signature required.
As always, if you have any questions or feedback on these changes, please let us know.
Happy Quoting!
