Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us. Quoter respects your confidentiality and any information you provide to us will never be sold, shared, or rented to other organizations for commercial purposes.

The following terms and conditions govern all use of the Quoter Software as a Service (“Service”) and any assigned account (“Account”) used in connection with the Service and includes, but is not limited to, any new features or tools which are added to the current Service, or any related content, services, or products provided by Quoter Software Inc. (“Quoter”). The Service is owned and operated by Quoter and is offered subject to your acceptance without modification of all of the terms and conditions contained herein and all other operating rules, policies (including, without limitation, the Quoter Terms of Service) and procedures that may be published by Quoter from time to time through the Quoter website (quoter.com) or through any of the Quoter subdomains (collectively, the “Site”) (collectively, the “Agreement”). Quoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace any part of this Agreement. It is your responsibility to check this Agreement periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the Service following the posting of any changes to this Agreement constitutes acceptance of those changes.

In this Agreement, our customers and any of their staff members whom are given access to their Quoter Account are herein referred to as “Subscribers”, and our customers’ customers who use the Service are referred to as “Customers”.

  1. Summary.
    • We will never ask you for personal information unless we truly need it.
    • We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, protect our rights, or if Quoter is acquired by or merged with another company.
    • You retain all rights to your Customer data, including quotes and contact information.
    • We never store credit card data on our servers.
  2. Information Collection and Usage.
    • Prior to using our service. Prior to using our service, you may request additional information (for purposes of getting access to a demo, for example), which would require some personal information, such as name, company name, email and phone number. You can also request a sample quote, and provide the above plus physical address and company title.
    • Registration. When you sign up for Quoter, we ask you for information including your company name, address, billing address, e-mail address, and phone number. Our primary purpose in collecting this information is to provide you with a customized, efficient, and easy to use experience when using the Service.
    • Billing Information. Quoter never stores any credit card information on behalf of Subscribers or Customers. Your payment gateways have the sole and complete responsibility for the storage of credit card and payment information for your Customers. For billing purposes pertaining to the service, Quoter has partnered with PSiGate and Stripe, fully PCI Compliant payment gateways, for processing and storing Subscriber credit cards.
    • Profile. We may collect and store information obtained through cookies, log files, and/or third parties (e.g. Google Analytics) to create a profile of our users. The purpose of such a profile is to better understand how users access and use the Service to provide offers and make improvements.
    • SMS Messaging. We use SMS Messaging for sales and marketing communications. Communication via SMS will only be used with user opt in consent. Consent is collected via the checkbox on our Calendar events where SMS communication is available. You may opt out at any time by texting “STOP” to any SMS message sent by Quoter. Message and data rates may apply.
    • Data Storage. Most of your information is stored within Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the US in our secured web servers and databases. We also use other third parties to handle some of your data โ€“ a full list can be found here. Although Quoter owns the code, databases, and all rights to the Quoter application, you retain all rights to your Customer data, including quotes, contact information, and inquiries.
  3. Your Rights. Where the new GDPR rules apply, you can contact us to:
    • determine if weโ€™re processing your personal data
    • get access to your personal data that we have
    • correct any of your personal data that we have
    • erase any of your personal data that we have
      Simply email us at privacy@quoter.com, providing us with your request and proof of your identity, and we will respond appropriately within 30 days.
  4. Communications from the Site.
    • Special Offers and Updates. We may occasionally send you special offers or updates (i.e. newsletters) pertaining to the Service. Out of respect for privacy, you may opt out of these types of communications at any time by either following the link in the email footer, or by emailing us at privacy@quoter.com.
    • Service Announcements. We may occasionally send you notices of scheduled downtime or service upgrades. These communications will not be promotional in nature and cannot be opted out of; if you wish to stop receiving these types of emails you would need to cancel your account.
    • Customer Service. We communicate with users of the Service on a regular basis to respond to requests, inquire about experiences with the Service, and provide support.
  5. Disclosure.
    • Legal Disclaimer. Quoter may disclose personally identifiable information under special circumstances, such as when required by law or when your actions violate our Terms of Service.
    • Business transitions. In the event Quoter goes through a business transition, such as a merger or acquisition with or by another company, your information will, in most cases, be transferred to the new company.
    • Security. Quoter takes every precaution to protect Subscribers’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the Site, or through the Service, their information is protected via industry-standard SSL encryption. We also do everything in our power to protect user-information offline.

Cookies are small pieces of text used to store information on web browsers. They are used by many websites to store and receive identifiers and other information on devices, such as a handheld phone or computer. Our Website and Service use cookies and other similar technologies (collectively in this Policy, “cookies”), in order to provide a better service to you and to generally improve our Website and Service. For example, we may use cookies to help direct you to the appropriate part of our Website, by indicating that you are a repeat visitor.

We also may include tracking pixels, which are small graphic images, in our marketing communications to determine engagement. These cookies may be set by us or by third parties with whom we have partnered to assist in our marketing efforts.

Some portions of our Website are functional without cookies, and you may generally choose whether to accept cookies. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default, however, you may be able to delete cookies yourself through your browser’s cookie manager. To do so, please follow the instructions provided by your web browser. Please note that disabling cookies will reset your session, disable auto-login, and may adversely affect the availability and functionality of our Website and the services we can provide to you.

Strictly Necessary Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are required to help our Website to work as intended. Some of these cookies include, but are not limited to:

  • wordpress_{hash}: – Session cookie determines if you have logged in before, and, if so, provides access to the WordPress Admin panel. Stores your login authentication details in encrypted form. Applicable for administrators and contributors only. Deleted when you close your browser.
  • wordpress_logged_in_{hash}, wordpress_sec_{hash}: WordPress uses this session cookie to indicate when you’re logged in, and who you are, for most administrator user interfaces. Deleted when you close your browser.
  • wordpress_test_cookie: WordPress sets this session cookie when you navigate to the login page. The cookie is used to determine if your web browser is set to allow or reject cookies. Deleted when you close your browser.
  • frm_form{id}_{hash}: Quoter uses Formidable Forms WordPress plugin to consensually collect potential lead information through a contact form. The cookie is used to determine if the current user has submitted this form before, and on which date. It does not contain any personal information. Cookie expires after one year.

We use third-party cookies and similar tracking technologies to help us understand how you use our Website and improve your experience. For example, we may use cookies to understand which pages you browsed before submitting a demo request. These cookies include:

Advertising and Targeting Cookies

These third-party cookies are placed by third-party advertising platforms to collect information about your visits to and actions on certain pages of our Website so that they can deliver ads for relevant Quoter Software services to you later, such as when you are on certain third-party sites. These cookies also help us track ad performance.
